Ibanez JEMVWH White Electric Guitar FREE DELIVERY

Steve Vai is undoubtedly one of the most influential modern day guitar heroes with a legion of fans spread right across the globe. Vai has performed with many big name Rock and Metal artists and musicians from David Lee Roth, formerly of Van Halen, to deputising in Whitesnake. His fast and furious guitar style changed the way a lot of today’s players approach the guitar, and his impeccable technique continues to influence many up and coming musicians.

As a long time admirer and endorsee, Vai has become synonymous with Ibanez guitars and has a whole arsenal of them in his custom designed Jem range, which were created working alongside prestige guitar designers at Ibanez.

The Jem 7V is the top of the range model within the Jem series and is a re-creation of the guitar that Vai affectionately named “Flo” - one of his main live and studio instruments. Featuring gold hardware and Vai's preferred choice Dimarzio Evolution pickups, the Jem 7V is a strikingly attractive guitar. The white Basswood body of the guitar features the instantly recognisable integrated "monkey grip" handle,  a gold plated Floyd rose tremolo system and a white pearl effect scratch plate.

The 5 piece Maple and Walnut neck of the guitar has Vai's own "Tree of life" decorative vine overlay on the Rosewood fingerboard whilst the frets are scalloped from the 15 fret upwards for ease of soloing and string bending technique ...

If you're a Steve Vai fan then you may already be aware of the Jem 7V, however owning a Steve Vai guitar won't allow you to re-create his technique overnight. It has been rumoured that Vai practices on average for 10 hours every day, which gives you some idea of the dedication required to become one of the world's best guitarists ..

The Jem 7V is the flagship model within the range and is a very comfortable instrument to play, the high gain output Evolution Hum-bucker pickups really do shake the fillings from your molars on the now mandatory power chords. However as a contrast to the brute force of this instrument there are also some nice personal touches here from Vai, such as the scalloped frets which makes access to the higher frets and string bending much easier.

As the brain child of Steve Vai, this guitar gets automatically categorised as a rock and metal instrument, but the addition of the mid-position single coil pick-up, and the five way coil-tap blade type selctor switch, provide a lot more tone than just out and out metal. The Jem range are a much more versatile instrument than they are perhaps given credit for, and it's worth remembering that many musicians use Ibanez guitars for musical styles other than rock.

This is a very striking guitar, the white body and headstock are very attractive when matched with gold hardware, and the Jem 7V also sounds just as good as it looks ... To see Steve Vai demonstrating this guitar click here.
