The idea behind this model was to offer guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including high quality woods, a carved top and punchy humbucking pickups but without all the cosmetics such as binding and fancy inlays that bump the price so much. It's simple, yet elegant design quickly helped it to become the most popular model in the Les Paul series.
The classic Les Paul sound that comes from one of these Studio models is produced by the 490R and 498T Alnico II magnet humbucker pickups, which are mounted into carved Maple top with a Mahogany body. The Rosewood fret board with trapezoidal inlays provides the classic Les Paul look while dual volume and tone controls provide complete control of the instrument's sound.
Unlike older models, the current Les Paul Studio also come with a genuine, high quality Gibson case.
