Fender Tele Highway Series in Trans Wine *UPGRADED*
Along with the Stratocaster the Fender Telecaster is one of the most immediately identifiable guitars on the planet, the smaller bodied design and bright, resonant twang has made it the guitar of choice for millions of people across the globe.
It is particularly popular with the C&W guitarists who appreciate the rich, shimmering tone that gives the top end sparkle to their good ‘ol country sound. It was also immortalised in the 70’s by British rock band Status Quo and had a rock renaissance when used by Andy Summers of the Police during the 1980’s.
The Highway one Tele uses the tried and trusted raw materials and the body is crafted from solid Alder wood which is very light and therefore good for extended playing periods. The one piece neck is made from maple and has the familiar “skunk” stripe inset on the rear of the neck, depending on your personal choice of finishes determines if the fret-board is Rosewood or Maple.
The pick up configuration consists of 2 hot single coil pick-ups that use Alnico 3 magnets and these are wired into Fender’s Grease-bucket tone circuitry which is renowned for its Texas and Delta blues tones. It also features a full-blown vintage style ashtray bridge with just three saddles, one for each pair of strings which means that the strings must be intoned in pairs rather than individually. The pick ups are controlled by chrome plated single tone and separate volume pot along with a 3-way selector switch whilst the bridge, neck pick-up and machine heads are also chrome plated.
This is the new "UPGRADED" version of the Highway Tele. It features a 70's styled logo on the headstock, supersize frets, new alnico pickups which create a rounder sound with that great Fender sparkle. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish lets the body wood's natural tone shine through.
