In 2008 Fender released the latest version of the Telecaster now known as the American Standard Telecaster with some new and innovative features and the present day advances in technology have made the Fender Telecaster an even more appealing choice of guitar. New features include:-
- A new bridge with improved bent-steel saddles mounted to a stamped-brass bridge plate for increased resonance and sustain.
- A thinner finish undercoat that lets the body breathe and improves resonance
- A new moulded hard shell luxury Fender/SKB case
- Two new finish options, Blizzard Pearl and Crimson Red Transparent
