Description

Ibanez JS1000BTB Burnt Trans Blue Electric Guitar

Joe Satriani is the father of modern instrumental rock guitar. Having taught and played with people as diverse as Steve Vai and Mick Jagger, there’s not much Joe doesn’t know about playing. This guitar is almost the total opposite of the Steve Vai Jem. 22 small frets on quite a chunky neck aren’t what you would expect from one of the worlds speed demons.

If I told you that the original guitar Joe used to play was a guitar made famous by a certain Jimi Hendrix you wouldn’t be far off the feel of this guitar. What Ibanez enabled him to do was keep the things he liked and change the things he didn’t like about his old guitar, so an Edge Pro Locking Tremolo bridge sits on top of a basswood body that resembles in appearance a "sucked sweet". Two high output DiMarzio custom pickups sit direct mounted on the body giving excellent sustain.

This guitar has bags of tone. Tone, tone, tone, there ... I've said it three times so it must be true ... The native sound of this instrument is rich, creamy and warm - or is that a Cappucino .... ?.Natural harmonics are easy to play on this instrument as chords and individual notes seems to resonate perfectly with bell-like clarity. And yet this guitar also feels like a trusty road warrior ... and by that I mean that the range of tones available make it a versatile weapon in your armoury.

The coil tapped pickups offer crisp clean chords through to searing lead sounds, and the guitar although pretty to look at also feels reliable and solid and I dare say that even a few dings and gig scars in it won't detract from its cosmetic (or should that read Cosmic) looks .

I really enjoyed playing this guitar, it’s got loads going for it and is one of the best Ibanez signature models I’ve played, but don't just take my word for it .. hot foot down to the Nevada Music Warehouse and try it for yourselves ...
