Marshall AVT 50 Ltd Edtion Tribute Combo Amplifier

The Marshall AVT50 Tribute Amplifier is a short Limited Edition run of the standard Marshall AVT50 Combo that has been dressed up with a new "Tribute Series" cosmetic appearance which in truth seems little more than a new speaker grille cloth and a gold embossed badge ....

Otherwise the specification is exactly that of the standard Marshall Valvestate AVT50 with 2 diversely equalised channels, Spring Reverb and a single 12 inch speaker in a Combo configuration. The limited run is for the duration of March 2008 only so there will only be the total number of units produced in March released to the UK market.

AVT stands for ‘Advanced Valvestate Technology’. This means that the amp has a valve in the input stage of the amplifiers electronic infrastructure, the AVT50 combines the warm sound of valves with contemporary technology.

This combo amp has two channels: the Clean channel provides really nice clean tones, whilst the Overdrive input provides out and out rock tones with the high gain Marshall sound that we all know and love.

Personally I have to say that derssing an amplifier up in a different set of clothes and then claiming it to be something other than that is slightly distasteful and whilst this is a perfectly good amplifier sticking a new speaker grille on and a gold plastic badge doesn't really sonically improve it in any way. That said it may appeal to dyed-in-the -wool Marshall fans as cosmetically it looks a little different to the standard all black affair of their combos....
