Description

Here's yet another of the Ibanez Exotic Wood range - this time in Natural Walnut which is something that you don't see everyday ... The top, sides and rear is crafted from Laminated Walnut with a Maple neck and Rosewood fret board complete with a spectacular Mother of Pearl design located at the 12th fret.

The Venetian cut-away on the instrument body gives this instrument a destinctive and unique shape matched by a high quality Ibanez B-Band SQR pick-up and an AEQ-SRT Shape Shifter pre-amp which can be configured to deter feedback.

The bridge is crafted from Rosewood with a compensated saddle and houses 6 traditional bridge pins to hold the strings in place. On the upper side of the instrument is an integrated guitar tuner so that the instrument can be quickly and easily tuned.

Walnut is an unusual choice of wood to create an instrument from, however it seems to work very well on the EW20WNE-NT and the dark wood contrasts superby with the Mother of Pearl rosette that encircles the sound hole and the binding that runs around the edge of the guitar.

The Venetian cut-away gives this guitar a very unique and identifiable look, sound wise the dominant frequencies are the low and mid range however this can be adequately addresses once the instrument is connected to an amplified source so that the on board electronics can add sufficient top end.

The electrified sound is good with plenty of sound shaping available via the SRT Pre-amp and with careful EQ it is entirely possible to re-create the natural acoustic sound of the guitar. The Exotic wood range has only been made in limited quantities, so if this is the type of instrument that rings your bell, don't wait too long with the purchasing decision otherwise they may no longer be available ...
