To get the best from your electric guitar you will need an amplifier. Amps vary in size, output power and features from a basic practice amplifier to a full on stack. Beginners will need a practice amp which is a basic amplifier with two channels, clean and overdrive and as you progress you will upgrade to a more powerful one, perhaps with added features.
The most popular amps we sell are from Marshall and their range covers everything from the basic MG10 to the large stage stack. Other amps will have features such as reverb and now you can get an amp with built-in digital effects and amp modelling.
Amplifiers come in several forms, solid state, hybrid (which normally have a valve in the preamp stage) or valve amps. Valve amplifiers are the most expensive and you should bear in mind that valves can lose performance, so valve changes will be inevitable in order to get the best sound.
