The compact guitar amplifier is small in size, but more powerful than a practice amplifier and easier to transport than the larger amps. Guitarists also tend to prefer the visual look of a larger amp!
Practice amplifiers are low power - usually 10 or 15 watts - and have two channels: Clean and Overdrive used for practice. They always have a headphone socket so you can practice without annoying those around you. One of the questions we get asked is whether you can use effects with practice amps and yes you can use any effects pedal with your practice amplifier.
