The Boss ME50 is a multi effects unit for electric guitar. This unit is pretty much all of Boss’s stomp box effects in one unit. Giving you choice between all overdrive/distortion effects, modulation, delay and expression pedal effects. Constructed with the ruggedness and simplicity of a stomp box this unit is great for both recording and live purposes. The ME50 also features built in tuner, noise suppressor, compressor and tone modifier with 11 settings to choose from.
Stomp box
The ME50 features over 40 of boss’s stomp box effects, which are split into four categories on the unit these are Overdrive/Distortion, Modulation, Delay and Expression Pedal. The Overdrive/Distortion section features all of Boss’s stomp effects from the OD1 and OD2 to the MT2 and Muff! Each one of these sections is presented as a stomp box with knobs for ease of use. The next section is Modulation with holds choruses, phasers, flangers and rotary speakers etc. The delay section covers all manner of delays from slow echo to reverse delay. Lastly the expression pedal is assignable to different expression settings such as wah or pitch shifter.
Tone Comp NS and Reverb
The ME50 features the following subtle effects, firstly is the Tone Modify offers preset EQ for quick tone editing. The compressor features two dials, one for sustain and one for effects level, this allows you to set compression to your needs. The noise suppressor allows you to rid yourself of those annoying squeaks and pops. Lastly the reverb gives you four different reverbs to choose from to shape your sound these include room, hall, spring and mod.
