Peavey Briarwood DR3 ER Spruce Gloss Finish
The DR3 has the same design and dimensions of the Briarwood DR2 however the differential between the two instruments comes from the choice of raw materials used in their construction.
The DR3 has a solid Spruce wood top with Rosewood back, sides and a Rosewood neck and fingerboard. The Dreadnought style body shape is constructed using traditional “X” bracing interior build methods that also help to give the DR3 its resonant sound.
The bridge is also constructed from Rosewood and underneath it sits a Piezo pickup that allows the instrument to be plugged into an amplifier or PA system. The bridge saddle is compensated to allow for better string action and easy of playing whilst the strings are held in place by the usual 6 bridge pins. An excellent feature of all the Briarwood acoustics is their fantastically low action not usually found on guitars any where near this price which makes them very easy to play and very popular with beginners.
The machine heads are smooth sealed, die-cast chrome plated units and the headstock displays the Briarwood logo. The 20 frets have dot inlaid position markers and the natural wood finish of the guitar top is decorated with cream binding at the edges and rosettes around the sound hole. The DR3 also has a tortoise shell scratch plate adjacent to the sound hole and the guitar has a shiny gloss finish
