Boss RC2 Loop Station
Most musicians are probably now familiar with the hugely popular, twin pedal RC-20XL Loop Station - the “hands-free” phrase recorder - which enables a performer to record passages of music “on the fly”, play them back, play over the top of them, and layer multiples of the passages over each other, as randomly and often as they like.
Here we have the line’s new little baby, the RC-2. Many of the same features as its bigger counter-parts are squeezed into this little pedal, which is the same size as any of the standard Boss guitar foot pedals like the OD-3 or the new FBM-1.
The player can create dense layers of riffs and chord patterns, or anything they so desire like long drawn out notes all bouncing around and into each other right in the middle of a performance, and then playing a melody over the top!
You can even come to the gig armed with samples saved on the pedal already, and you just need to choose how and when you want them to be played, and despite the RC-2’s size, you still have a fair few options to play with.
