Description

Yamaha’s DTXplorer is an affordable electronic drum kit with some great features. Electronic drum kits serve a few purposes, easily stored due to their small footprint, relatively noiseless for quiet practice, and capable of producing the sounds of a variety of different kits all from one electronic drum module.

Multi Effects Drum

The DTXplorer features snare pad, three tom pads, a kick pad, hi hat and two cymbal pads. The kit even includes a bass drum pedal. Programmed into the drum module of the DTXplorer are 32 factory preset kit sounds, with an additional 10 user kits and 214 voices for custom kits.

Groove Check & Rhythm

The DTXPL module has Yamaha’s popular groove check function, but takes it to the next level as a learning tool. You can engage the Rhythm Gate so that when you play out of time the module will mute the drums until you get back in with the click.

The DT Xplorer is very easy to play and the dual-trigger, velocity sensitive pads respond just like real acoustic drums and have a totally natural feel. Another major advantage is the small footprint - this kit doesn’t take up anywhere near as much space as a standard acoustic kit and may therefore fit into a bedroom, spare room or garage.

A feature that will delight Mums, Dads, girlfriends and wives is the ability to plug-in headphones for near-silent rehearsal. For drummers just starting out there's also an on-board "click-trainer" - this is a device that trains you how to play in time with a click or rhythm track. It has an audio/visual indicator that allows you to see if you are ahead or behind the beat and this way you can learn to play exactly in time ...
