Tama Superstar Custom Hyperdrive in Dark Desert Burst
THIS IS A 5 PIECE KIT (pictured is a 6 piece kit to illustrate the finish, this kit only has 1 floor tom)
Here's a brand new kit from one of the most popular drum companies on the planet. You can find Tama on records from bands ranging from Primus, ZZ Top, Shadows Fall, Justin Timberlake, Deftones, System of a Down...the list is endless. When compared to the standard kits in this range, the main difference with the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive is the rack tom shell depths. Instead of having the deep 10x8 and 12x9 we now have them in the hyperdrive series as 10x6.5 and 12x7 which optimises shell positioning so you can now have the drums as low and flat as you like, but that’s not all, by having shallow toms you increase the tunability and add attack and focused low end to your sound .
The Tom drums consist of 6-ply 6mm Birch with an outer ply of basswood for grain consistency whilst the bass drum has 7-ply 7mm Birch with an outer ply of basswood again for grain consistency. Birch is mainly known for its aggressive volume and natural projection, great for the flexible player.
This kit comes with hardware from Tama's tough Roadpro series so is very well equipped for use on the road. Included is a kick pedal, boom & straight cymbal stands, snare stand and a hi-hat stand, as well as brackets for the suspended toms. Black Nickel shell hardware has been added to this kit which complements the beautiful finish perfectly and adds a touch of class to the drum. Also included is the Star-Cast mounting system which allows maximum resonance from the shell and relieving the drum from any pressure. As with all Superstar kits, this Hyperdrive kit features the Sound Bridge design lugs which only make contact with the shell at each end of the lug (where the bolt is), allowing more resonance to the shell.
This is a very well made kit, as durable and playable as they come. A stunning, versatile kit which provides excellent value for money.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE CYMBALS, STICKS or DRUM STOOL
