As a rule, you will find that the more you pay for a pedal the sturdier and more responsive it will be. Higher priced pedals will usually have a strong footplate, sturdy bass plate, high quality spring and a dual chain. You will also find that a lot of pedals have multi-sided beater heads, allowing for more than one tone from the pedal.
