The charger has a unique four stage charging process
Fast Charge - recharge 2 AA or 2 AAA batteries in 1 hour or recharge 4 AA / AAA batteries in about two hours. A light on the display turns green when the batteries are nearly 98% charged so you can get the most out of high capacity batteries.
Ramp-up – this feature gives the batteries a boost when needed to revive old batteries. This jolting feature is a series of carefully timed high current pulses that can activate both new and inactive batteries.
Top off Charge - The charger provides an intermediate, medium current, top-off charge so that the battery will keep most of its charge.
The Maintenance Charge - is an extremely low current pulse charging that gives the batteries a brief pulse charge periodically to ensure the batteries are charged but not overcharged.
