Vox Teardrop Bass VBW-2000 Sunburst Limited Edition Bass Guitar
There are only 6 of these available in the UK and Nevada has 1 only
After 40 years, the Wyman bass specifically created by Vox for Bill Wyman of “The Rolling Stones” has been re-issued as a limited edition collectable. Bill “All-Vox Man” Wyman as the ads used to say, played the teardrop bass during the mid to late 60’s and along with Brian Jones produced some of the most memorable and iconic images of the period.
The Bass itself is Japanese made, the semi acoustic body has a carved maple top finished in 3 colour sunburst and the back and sides are natural finished mahogany with cream bound edges. As Bill had small hands, he preferred the short 30 1/2” scale length and this bass also features a very slim neck all the way up to the body much like a Hofner Violin bass. The width of the neck at the nut is 35mm and only 48mm where it joins the body.
The neck is made of Maple and has 22 frets including the zero fret. The custom bridge has a chrome cover, the knobs and scratch plate are chrome and there are two single coil pickups and a three way switch. The tuners are decent Gotoh models and the bass comes complete with a fitted case.
