Squier Bass 70's Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Natural

This bass is a bit of a beast, generally much larger and heavier than the modern day designs it harks back to a time when men were men but is therefore quite cumbersome for a petite and portly curvaceous being such as I, and my first thought was how much more diminutive and ergonomic today’s bass guitars are.

However, that said it certainly does give out quite a kick-ass sound with particular emphasis on the low mid-range spectrum. It’s also one of those bass guitars whose sound changes quite dramatically depending on if you’re using finger style or plectrum and the latter brings about a real top end “twang” to the proceedings.

This bass model has been praised by many of today’s leading bassists and has therefore become resurgent in its quest to re-establish itself within a highly competitive market. Personally I think this bass sounds great but unless you’re of a suitable build you may find it sheer size and stature difficult to cope with …
