Yamaha RBX170DBM
The RBX 170 bass guitar from Yamaha is part of their entry level range, the first pleasantly surprising feature that springs to mind is the full scale twin octave neck as there aren’t an abundance of entry level basses that provide a full two octaves to play with.
The Agathis body gives just the right amount of weight to the instrument so that it feels solid without being cumbersome and heavy. Sonically the sound is pleasing on the ears although a little experimentation is required when using both pick-ups to find the correct blend between the neck and bridge pick-up.
Nevertheless, this is a subjective point depending on how you like your bass to sound – although there is plenty of tonal range to please all tastes.
