The guitar strap is often overlooked by musicians, but choosing the right strap is an integral part of a great performance as it helps to make the musician feel comfortable whilst on stage or in the studio. Things to look for in a good strap are first and foremost good quality raw materials and sturdy substances such as leather are always a good choice as it has great durability and strength.
Other features to consider are adjustability and comfort. Will the strap you've chosen allow you to wear your bass as high or as low as you wish and is it comfortable? Modern straps sometimes have "snap-on" capabilities where part of the strap detaches to allow the quick change of instruments in between songs. Other straps have in-built pockets for plectrums and other small accessories, needless to say the choice of colours, designs and materials of modern bass guitar straps in almost endless.
