It is a sad but realistic fact that these days, many expensive luxury or executive cars are fitted with a tracking device so that if in the worst case scenario the car is stolen, it can be traced and the culprit apprehended without any loss or damage to the vehicle.
This technology has now been applied to musical instruments and expensive ancillary equipment. The guitar, bass or keyboard can be fitted with a tiny microchip and the instrument then registered with The National Register of Musical Instruments so that in the event of loss or theft the device aids the eventual recovery of the instrument or equipment.
The microchip can be easily hidden or embedded within the instrument and can be read by the means of a radio frequency scanner, it will also dramatically reduce any insurance policy that you may want to take out on your beloved bass guitar.
