Orange Crush 10 watt guitar combo amplifier

With a power rating of 10 watts the Crush 10 is the smallest member of the crush series; however don’t let the diminutive size of this amp put you off.

Aesthetically this amp is covered in Orange’s trademark bright orange vinyl with a light brown vintage style plastic grill covering the speaker and the Orange logo mounted in the centre.

The Crush-10 is a single channel 10W solid-state combo amp, with three separate equalisation controls (low, mid, high), a master volume control, and two separate gain controls. It also has a headphone out jack, which mutes the speaker when the headphones are plugged in.

The operational controls on the Crush 10 are user friendly and intuitive and it shouldn’t take much experimentation before you completely get the hang of this amp. But the real bonus of this amplifier is the sound, the Crush 10 provides a rich variance of guitar tones and thanks to the twin gain options it can emulate subtle blues crunch through to out and out metal shredding.

The amp was tested using a guitar with single coil pick-ups and another model using high gain hum-buckers, both types of guitar gave equally desirable results in both clean and distorted settings.

The best compliment I can pay this amp is that although it uses solid-state technology it actually sounds like a valve amp, so if you are in need of a good practice amp – look no further than the crush 10.
